The Lahore Metro Bus began operations on February 10, 2013, and established itself as the very First Rapid Bus Transit System in Pakistan. This initiative taken by the provincial government was appreciated by the general people of Punjab and it resolved the transportation-related problems of the intra-city commuters.

Any individual can purchase the card by visiting any Metro Bus Station and displaying their CNIC. The Metro Card may be purchased for a total of Rs. 130/- and the sum is reimbursable. The card maximum holds a 1000 rupee balance.

A ticket vending machine (TVM) or a ticket booth present at the station can be used for this purpose.
